The learner life-cycle, — right from admission process, fees collection, study material distribution, conducting interim and final examinations, and issuance of the certificates/diplomas to successful students, — of approx. 70,000 students every year, are coordinated by the LLC Thane & LLC Palghar projects of the Company.
But the main focus of both the RLC & LLC projects is to constantly inspire and motivate the network for improved business performance while employing ethical business practices and ensuring quality of the course deliver to all learners. Every year, around 1,20,000 learners are admitted to these 800 centres. We also lead in the collective marketing activities of these courses and centres in the Mumbai region.
Ashramshala Initiative:
The Tribal Welfare Department, Govt. of Maharashtra, establishes residential schools for tribal and hilly area residents, generally rural poor and tribals, known as ‘Ashramshalas’ (meaning refuge schools) where the primarily tribal children are provided free boarding and education. These schools are mostly in the remote and often tribal areas of the state so that the children are not too far away from their parents and family location.
As a social initiative, MKCL, in collaboration with the Dept. of Tribal Welfare, Govt. of Maharashtra, extended its IT-Literacy programme MS-CIT at these Ashramshalas at no cost to the student or the school. The last-mile partner in this activity is an MKCL Authorised Training Centre. SHRIM IT’s role in this project included visiting, inspecting, nomination, appraisal, and selection of the concerned Ashramshala as well as the ALC most appropriate to deliver the client’s computer literacy curriculum — onsite in the remote area — followed by regular back-office support, and on-site support to the ALC network partner throughout the year, through the multiple student life cycles.
Digital University Project:
Since the Dept. of Higher & Technical Education of the Govt. of Maharashtra, is its parent body, MKCL has developed the Digital University software framework, which enables the Universities in Maharashtra to reduce the vast amount of paper work required in administering the day to day work of any University. This framework is available across the cloud on MKCL’s servers, accessible to colleges as well as various departments and officials of any university for eligibility, admission, examination tasks amongst other tasks required in the daily administration of any University.
SHRIM IT provides the daily support service to two major Universities in India: the University of Mumbai (UoM) & The Sreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women’s University (SNDT WU). A dedicated team of the Company is stationed at the offices of each of the two Universities. The Company also operates the Students Facilitation Centre (SFC) and the Colleges Facilitation Centre (CFC) of the UoM at their Kalina Campus, and the Colleges Facilitation Centre (CFC) of the SNDT WU, at their Juhu campus, on behalf of MKCL.
